
No doubt about it, the National Youth Activist Awards were a dynamic success. One hundred youth and attendance over 300, crowded the ballroom of the Omni Hotel & Resorts Nashville to participate in the distinguished awards: Honoring youth doing exemplary works in the classroom, community, and playing field. You could feel the excitement when you first entered the Omni Hotel, as youth and their families were met by a 100 foot red carpet.
The awards ceremony began with the playing of videos submitted by nominees, which displayed their hard work, while enjoying a 5 star meal prepared by the Omni Hotel. It's not every day that you see youth coming together from across the nation being rewarded for their great works and accomplishments. This event was an innovative way of teaching youth the importance of putting their families, education, communities, and environment first. The NYAA were inspired by Founder & CEO, Tiffany Love with the partnership of Michelle Curtis, Founder of Scared Stiff and NYAA Co-Chairman, whom both had a vision to highlight youth activist who strive to go beyond the call of duty to make sure their communities are a better place to live.
Nominees were provided with a NYAA gold medal and honored in 9 perspective categories. The 2015 NYAA category award winners are:

Community Ambassador Award Winner: Halle Hockman
Triumph Award Winner: Rachel Barcellona

Each recipient received a costume made blanket with the image of their face and a trophy. The night was filled with joy, excitement, tears, and laughter.
